This full day trip from Milan will introduce you to the truffle hunting experience and one of the most spectacular wineries of Piedmont – an open air wine museum where the modern Italian winemaking started. Enjoy breathtaking landscapes around Alba & an extensive Barolo wine degustation. You will be accompanied the whole day in a new luxury car with air conditioning and Wi-Fi with our professional private driver…
The tour will start in your hotel – at the time you prefer, where our driver will meet you. You will start your journey in a luxury Mercedes Car (different models are available, depending on the size of your group, all brand new with with air conditioning and Wi-Fi).
You will learn about enogastronomic, cultural and historical values that make Piedmont the birthplace of Barolo and one the most influential wine regions in the world. Experience an extensive degustation of the Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo & much more, as well as local specialties during lunch in an iconic restaurant in Barbaresco town that we will book for you.
The tour includes truffle hunting experience in a small group where you will learn how specially trained dogs can discover world’s most luxurious mushrooms. At the end of this experience, you will have a chance to taste the truffles you found.
Afterwards, your professional private driver will accompany you to one of the most iconic restaurants of Piedmont located near Barolo / Barbaresco area where you can enjoy local specialties.
After lunch, you will visit of one of important wineries where you will join a guided tour of the winery to see the cellars, the production site and (if possible) the underground area of the winery. You will enjoy an extensive degustation of their wines (from 4 to 6 different wines), which will always include Barolo wines. There will be also a possibility to visit the shop of the winery in case you wish to bring some bottles with you to Milan.
Undoubtedly, you cannot visit Piedmont without exploring one of the most beautiful villages, such as Neive, or Grinzane Cavour where admire its majestic castle. From here you will enjoy an amazing panoramic view of the central part of the region and discover the secrets of the winemaking through an educational path around the castle created by the local winemakers.
This private experience can be 100% personalized depending on your preferences and it is possible to include an additional winery visit (instead of the truffle hunting experience), cooking class or a hazelnut factory visit as an optional activity.
